I have written before on how I feel that running is a team sport. So I was excited to be selected as a member of Team Modo for the Modo Spring Run-Off 8K on March 23, 2014. The event will take place around Vancouver’s Stanley Park.
Last Friday, I ran into Hilary Henegar, Modo’s Marketing Director and the captain of Team Modo. We talked for bit and she asked to take a picture of me. Little did I know that she was going to turn it into this cool poster!
Transcript: “2 years ago, I couldn’t even run for a minute, now I run everywhere… Running errands is a great way to train, just pack light.”
What is Modo?
Modo is Metro Vancouver’s only local, not-for-profit carshare. It began 17 years ago with 16 members in the West End, becoming the first carshare in the English-speaking world. Since then, the car co-op has grown to more than 9,000 drivers and 300 vehicles.
With its mission to reduce environmental impact by reducing the number of cars on the road, Modo’s sharing model empowers its members to live car-free, using Modo only for the rare trip or as a family’s “second car.” As such, it offers the most affordable rates on carsharing in the region.
