At the beginning of January, I posted the news that my 2014 running resolutions were published in the National Post‘s weekly ‘EachCoach’ feature where each week, selected runners and coaches are featured in the newspaper.
Today, I was honoured to have some of my running advice (and my picture!) published in the EachCoach: Chart Your Progress section (pdf).
Here is what I wrote (only the first sentence was published):
Speed training cycles have been an integral part of my training for over a year now, and it has made a huge difference in my race times, as well as my general fitness.
Too many runners run the same speed during every run. Not only would this get boring, it also contributes to injuries. Even if you are not striving for a PR, you should incorporate speed work into you training schedule to help shake things up and keep healthy.
Your Turn
What specific training aspects are you following during your current training cycle?
