My 2014 Strava Story

Strava is a community of athletes from all over the world that encourages “social fitness”—connecting and competing with each other via mobile and online apps. It lets you track your rides and runs via your smartphone or  GPS device and helps you analyze and quantify your performance. This provides motivation and camaraderie, and helps us prove that we’re out there doing what we love to do.

This year the Strava community ran and rode a collective 2.9 billion km – the distance between Earth and Uranus (yes, we chuckled too). And we climbed a cumulative elevation of 29.1 billion meters – the equivalent of climbing Mt. Everest 3.29 million times. To commemorate these achievements, Strava set up personalized highlight reels for each of its members. This 30-second film features my 2014 activities, including distance, elevation, time, and other accomplishments:
